NZ Day 7 – The Catlins and Bluff
Waking up early we had a great sunrise to watch and hopefully catch on pixels. (Note.....early here AND sunrise occurred at 8.04 today...).

Continuing our run down the coast we passed through Milton before heading into the district of the Caitlins. In this district the shire went to the trouble of having a tourist board and signs to the various attractions that are here. We stopped on the coast at the petrified wood forest before heading to the southern most point of the NZ South Island.
The walk from car park was 15 minutes to the point across private farmland. The wind was blowing a gale, and while we were there Jo said "I guess it's onwards and upwards from here....." The walk back into the wind was around 25 minutes.
Back on the road we came across cows being moooooved for milking, with the cows being pushed along at running pace, another observation from Jo was that if they keep this up they will be making butter!
Looking for a place for the night we headed to the Bluff to the only park there. No one in the park when got there but it looked nice, so we tried to book in, and when we were told it's $35 per person.....and cash only we moved on to the next nearest at Oreti Beach where it was $40.....
It looks like rain tomorrow so it could be a look around locally and staying another night here before heading north.
